Kovalam

Considered among the finest beaches in the world, Kovalam beach is situated 18 km from Thiruvananthapuram. You can benefit from basking on the sandy beach, or swimming in the Arabian Sea. There are also facilities for water sports such as surfing, jet skiing, water skiing and catamaran rides. The major tourist attractions in Kovalam are the ancient havelis. Kovalam belongs to the Shekhawati region in Rajasthan. Traditionally speaking it was once a significant halt on the legendary Silk Route to China. Trading was an important activity along this route. The rich merchants erected their prolific havelis here and exaggerated them with attractive paintings on religious, historical, folk and social theme.
